Meonstoke Dairy – Hampshire
This pretty bottle depicts a typical English countryside, complete with fields, trees, and cows grazing. What’s not to like? You can find the bottle at Meonstoke Post Office and Village stores. The store partners with Meonstoke Dairy to supply pasteurised farm-fresh milk to the local village. Meonstoke village sits on the eastern side of the river Meon, a few miles away from the village of Hambledon, which incidentally is where the cows that produce the milk spend their days grazing.
Hambledon has a fascinating sporting history, and if you are in the area, you might wish to visit the Bat and Ball Inn. A plaque on the inn wall states that the Hambledon cricket club formulated the rules of the modern game of cricket during the 1760s. During that period, the captain of the Hambledon cricket club was one, Mr Richard Nyren. Nyren was also the landlord of Bat and Ball Inn, and various items of cricketing paraphernalia are on display inside. The inn sits next to the famous Broadhalfpenny Down cricket down opposite a stone monument to The Glory of Cricket.
