Llaethdy Plas Isa Dairy – Conwy
An eye-catching bottle and one that stands out amongst others in our collection. The back of the bottle tells us about Huw, Rachel and the family farming their four hundred and fifty Jersey cross cows in Conwy, North Wales.
The design of the cow is particularly interesting, and it reminds me of artwork by Lawson Rudge.
Conwy’s defensive walls and castle were constructed between 1283 and 1289 by the order of King Edward I of England during his conquest of Wales. The King spent approximately £15,000 on the construction of the defences (a little over £18 million in today’s money). Today Cadw manage Conway castle, and it is open for the public to wander in the historical splendour.
